We are the Body of Christ, called to mission and ministry in the University Circle community of Cleveland, Ohio and beyond. From support of mission work in faraway lands to the Neighborhood Lunch, from children’s and youth’s Sunday school to the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence, from support for teachers at Willson School to weekly worship experiences, Church In The Circle continues in the mission of partnering with God to transform the world by offering help, hope and healing as disciples of Jesus Christ. As Church In The Circle celebrates its eighth year since the merger of Epworth-Euclid and First United Methodist Churches of Cleveland, we look forward to the challenges of growing ministry for generations to come.
Here are Six Campaign Goals to Provide Resources for Existing and New Ministry
The decision to give a gift is a choice, but as a follower of Jesus, it really is not an option! Based on what we have received, we are encouraged to give something – out of thanksgiving for what God has done, and as a sign of faithfulness and commitment to be a part of the good things that God is continuing to do in our world. We have the gift of Jesus and we are invited to respond to what God has given us with generosity of our own through our commitment.
To make that gift means making a decision to give something away that you might use for something else. To do that may require choosing to not buy a fancy coffee, or deciding to carry a sack lunch into the office once a week instead of buying lunch. The amount may seem insignificant, but did you know that gift of just $5 every week can provide camp scholarships for our children and youth or small group ministries? Your gift matters – it matters to you as the giver, and to Church In The Circle. We use it as a resource for Expanding the Circle.
As a congregation, we are entering a time of discerning what we will contribute monetarily in the coming year. The practice of exercising financial stewardship is a spiritual discipline and a way to grow our faith. There is joy to be found in practicing generosity and it begins with a simple step of a commitment to contribute.
Please be in prayer as to your commitment and participation in providing resources for growing in mission and moving forward in faith! Challenge yourself to give in a regular and disciplined way. I promise you won’t regret it!
Blessings,

Here are Six Campaign Goals to Provide Resources for Existing and New Ministry
- Pastoral Ministry - Pastoral Ministry partners with the congregation to lead, nurture and embody Christian discipleship helping people to grow in loving God and neighbor. This includes preaching and teaching, community engagement, celebrating sacraments, visioning, visitation, pastoral care, and administration.
- Music and Arts - Music and Arts provides traditional / blended and new (2019) contemporary worship experiences by giving people of all ages opportunities to express their faith, explore their God-gifted talents and offer those gifts back to God. This includes the Chancel Choir, the Hand Bell Choir, Liturgical Dancers, the Gospel Choir, and events like the Christmas Program, Hanging of the Greens, and the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence.
- Mission and Outreach - Whether in the neighborhood or overseas, we extend the hope and love of Christ to a world in need by offering our resources, presence and services to the glory of God and for human fulfillment. This includes the Neighborhood Lunch, local service days, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Flood Bucket Program, the Harvest Party, district and conference apportionments, and support of Willson School through a school supply drive, tutoring, and the New Book for Every Child campaign.
- Christian Formation - The lifelong journey of discipleship. Children, Youth and Adult ministries strategically work together to create a pathway for people of all ages to nurture faith and grow towards maturity in Christ, from birth through adulthood. This includes Children and Youth Programming (an Infant/Toddler and Pre-K classroom, Confirmation, special events, camp scholarships, retreats, Safe Sanctuary, and supplies) and Adult Programming (Disciple Bible Study, small group ministry, fellowship, membership class, and community partnerships with a social justice emphasis).
- Facilities - Supporting the mission of our church by providing space and amenities for our existing ministries and the growing needs in our congregation and community for new ministries. This includes property maintenance, security, utilities, supplies, and building and contents insurance.
- Administration - Providing our congregation, pastor and program staff with the support they need to implement and carryout the mission of our church. This includes maintenance of social media presence, communications tools, stewardship and E-giving, bulletins and publications, general office activities, and special event assistance.
